I love this city! Calgary has always been my home and as a 3rd generation Calgarian, I've witnessed it grow into the incredible vibrant place it is today. Truth be told I never set out to be become a Real Estate Agent. It's the end result of a varied career and education in business, life experiences, and hobbies that all came together and led me down this path when the timing was right. ...and it's proven to be the perfect fit.

As a Real Estate Agent I help people navigate through difficult and/or meaningful life decisions, and I don't take that lightly. I'm not a salesman, so if you want or expect a sales pitch, please look elsewhere. I love what I do because I actually get to help others with what can be one of the most stressful and confusing steps in their lives, and I do it entirely by teaching and advising. My commitment to my clients and genuine approach to education and honesty is something I'm truly proud of. (And if you can appreciate a good sense of humour, all the better!)

By hobby, I'm an car enthusiast. Ok fine, I'm a total car nut. I race, modify, and restore mostly classic Toyotas and even helped to start one of the largest Toyota car clubs in Canada (ask me about it - but only if you have time to talk). As if that wasn't enough of a time commitment, I bought myself a little bungalow built in 1956 which I've been slowly and carefully renovating since 2012, mostly myself (but now with the help of my wonderful and VERY patient wife). To say I like to learn the technical side of things would be an understatement... I generally LOVE to brainstorm all aspects of home improvement and maintenance.

I was raised in a “Real Estate Family”. My father was a Realtor in Calgary for almost 10 years before moving to Vancouver where he is currently a licensed agent. After only 6 months in the Real Estate industry, my mom had to quit her day job to become my dad’s full time

Assistant. I consider myself a Calgarian having lived here since 1989. Before moving to Calgary, we immigrated to Brandon Manitoba.

I didn’t know it then, but my training actually started in high school. Over dinner my parents would discuss real estate stories and news excessively. My dad had the most amazing stories, some I still tell my clients today. My meticulous father is one of the most competent, dutiful and loyal Agents I’ve ever worked with. He truly put his clients first in business. I’m proud to have him as my first mentor stepping into this industry.

Although I officially launched my Real Estate career in 2005, I would say the seed of my passion for Real Estate was planted when I purchased my home in 2001. I was 21. Like most buyers, I made extensive sacrifices to buy my first home, including selling my first beloved motorcycle, and working 3 jobs simultaneously for a full year to save up. I couldn’t sleep the night before my possession. I was giddy and excited, overdosed on Better Homes & Garden magazines (Pinterest did not exist in 2001).  When my Agent/dad handed me the keys to my first house, the exhilaration I felt is a high a chase through my clients until this very day. When I hand my clients their keys for the first time, I feel the same giddiness and excitement for them. Every hurdle my clients have crossed to buy a home, all the hours spent scrutinizing properties with me by their side, all their dreams come into fruition in this very moment. Whether is a purchase or sale, it’s a big deal. I take my job with all of it’s giddiness seriously.

Prior to obtaining my license to be Realtor, I was a bilingual assistant (ESL), server & bartender, entrepreneur with phone books (if you meet me, ask me about this hilarious 3 year period of my life), and a 3rd year university drop out - computer science major. I finally had to accept that hours in a lab working on assignments and programming was not me. I craved interaction and found I enjoyed my shifts at Red Lobster more than heading to lectures at the University. Oh and in 2012 I took most of that year off of full time Real Estate. I went back to College. This time Fairview College for my motorcycle mechanics certificate. After I finished, I was employed to work on motorcycles as a junior mechanic 4 days a week while working part time as a Real Estate Agent around those hours. I learned a lot from that experience but mostly my appreciation for my Real Estate career was solidified by the end of 2012.

At the end of 2012 I joined a mega team. Although I benefited from the success of consistently being one of the top producers on that team, and achieving multiple awards, I was missing something. Remember, I value interaction. Being that busy and closing that many deals in a year, the quality of relationship I had with my clients was not to my satisfaction. There’s a difference between service and relationship. You can have the best of both with the right Agent.

As of January 1st 2017, I’m a proud Realtor and Managing Partner of The Good Agent Inc. We are well aware of all the reasons people shy aware from Realtors - we are here to change that!

In June of 2017, from the help of my wonderful new found work/life balance I was able to achieve, I got married and started a family all at once. I now have one more skill to add to my list of Real Estate Agent skills - being able to see a home through practical mom eyes. Life is good!

When Lorenda Coles made a career shift from business telecom sales to real estate in the year 2003, she already knew something about working with people: always put the customer first. Having over ten years in telecom sales early in her career, Lorenda learned to make her customers’ needs her top business priority. Once she did this, everything else seemed to fall in place. Lorenda started her extensive sales experience in 1995 in residential and business sales for a large telecom company. She then switched gears into real estate sales in 2003, adding to her real estate knowledge she became a licensed real estate appraiser in 2006. She enjoys all aspects of real estate; investing, flipping, personal, recreational, valuation. She has an extensive education and first hand experience in a variety of real estate faucets. She is currently completing her real estate broker program and designation in real estate appraising. Over the course of the past 10 years in real estate she has witnessed an ever-expanding City with a variety of niche markets – She has watched the booms and downturns and helped people with their real estate needs in a variety of market conditions. She understands her clients and wants them to have an excellent real estate experience! Lorenda was born and raised in Calgary, AB. She now raises her family in Calgary . Lorenda has enjoyed a satisfying career in the real estate industry thanks to the same customer service philosophy and word-of-mouth referrals that created her earlier successes. When she is not working she can be found at the arena cheering on her boys in hockey, walks with the hubby and dog in Fish Creek provincial park- She really lives and understands this city!

Lorenda has spent the past decade working as a licensed real estate appraiser and Realtor. As a Realtor she has earned Executive Club level with Re/max of Western Canada. I have also won the Top Producer for Transactions with the Justin Havre & Associates team.

As a Licensed Real Estate Appraiser she has learned to estimate the market value of vacant and improved residential, country residential and other forms of real property.
